Nikki Mizak is a ceramic artist who creates functional pottery in Carthage, North Carolina. Originally from Maryland, she earned a BFA in Painting and Printmaking with a minor in Art History from Frostburg State University in 2006. Her work is heavily influenced by her surroundings, which change every few years due to her husband’s career in the United States Army. Having lived across the country from Hawaii to states along the East Coast, her work features characteristics from her experiences with a focus on bright colors, texture, and hand painted decoration. She often features farm animals because of a strong love and respect for them and for what they provide.
